Holdify Fulfilment recently completed an urgent Amazon FBA removal and relabelling project for one of Europe’s largest sellers in its hygiene product category.

Following a labelling issue affecting inventory held within Amazon’s fulfilment network, more than 135 pallets of stock were removed from Amazon and sent to our UK warehouse for rework.

Holdify managed the project from goods-in through to completion: receiving and reconciling the stock, sourcing replacement labels, relabelling more than 60,000 individual units across four SKUs, reboxing the finished inventory and preparing it for return to multiple Amazon fulfilment centres.

This case study shows how we approached a high-volume, time-sensitive Amazon FBA relabelling project and helped get a significant quantity of inventory ready for sale again.

Corrected inventory returned into multiple Amazon fulfilment centres

The aim was clear. A large quantity of existing inventory needed to be corrected for compliance, so it could be returned to sale through Amazon FBA.

That meant the project could not be treated as a simple storage job. It required a controlled process from the point Amazon removal orders arrived at Holdify’s warehouse through to the point the corrected stock was prepared for inbound shipment back to Amazon.

The challenge was scale, accuracy and compliance

Amazon FBA rework becomes more complex as volume increases. Relabelling a few cartons is one thing. Managing more than 135 pallets from multiple Amazon fulfilment centres is different.

The main requirements were:

  • Receive stock arriving from several Amazon fulfilment centres

  • Book inventory into Holdify’s warehouse accurately

  • Keep 4 SKUs clearly separated and controlled

  • Source and arrange production of the correct replacement labels

  • Relabel more than 60,000 units

  • Check inventory during handling

  • Rebox stock where required

  • Prepare completed units for return to Amazon

  • Dispatch corrected inventory into multiple Amazon fulfilment centres

For an Amazon seller, stock tied up in removal orders can create pressure quickly. The inventory has already been purchased, imported or manufactured. If it cannot be sold because of labelling or compliance issues, cash is locked in stock that is taking up space rather than generating revenue.

This is where an experienced Amazon removal order service can make a practical difference. The priority is not only speed. The work also has to be accurate, traceable and suitable for Amazon’s inbound requirements.

Receiving more than 135 pallets from Amazon removal orders

The first operational stage was receiving and booking in the stock.

Holdify received the inventory on both pallets and courier parcels and envelopes, generated through Amazon removal orders over the course of the following 3 weeks. The goods arrived from multiple Amazon fulfilment centres, which meant the goods-in process needed to account for staggered deliveries, varying pallet and carton formats and SKU control from the start.

At this scale, poor receiving creates problems later. If pallets are not checked and recorded properly when they arrive, rework teams can lose time resolving discrepancies during relabelling or packing.

Holdify’s warehouse team managed the inbound stock by focusing on:

  • Clear goods-in checks on arrival

  • Accurate booking-in against the expected inventory

  • Separation of stock by SKU

  • Controlled movement into the rework area

  • Visibility of what had arrived and what still needed to be processed

This gave the project a stable base. Before relabelling could begin at pace, Holdify needed to know what stock was on site, where it was located, and how it mapped against the 4 SKUs in scope.

Holdify sourced and arranged the replacement labels

A key part of the project was label sourcing. Holdify did not simply wait for labels to arrive from the client. The team sourced and arranged production of the replacement labels needed for the rework.

For Amazon compliance relabelling, the label itself matters as much as the warehouse process. Labels must be suitable for the product, easy to scan and applied consistently. When thousands of units are being handled, even small problems with label quality or format can slow the work down.

Holdify’s role included arranging the production of replacement labels so the warehouse could move into relabelling without unnecessary delay.

This helped reduce friction in the project because the rework operation had the materials it needed. The team could plan labour, prepare workstations and process stock in a controlled sequence.

For many sellers, this is an area where a specialist Amazon relabelling service adds value. The work is not limited to physically applying labels. It also includes understanding what needs to happen before the first unit reaches the relabelling station.

Managing 4 SKUs without losing control

The project covered 4 SKUs. That may sound straightforward, but SKU control is critical when reworking large quantities of similar or related products.

If units are mixed, mislabelled or reboxed incorrectly, the problem can move back into Amazon’s network. That can lead to delays, receiving issues or new compliance problems.

Holdify managed the 4 SKUs through clear handling processes inside the warehouse. Stock was separated, worked through in batches, and checked as part of the rework flow.

The main control points included:

  • Identifying the correct SKU before relabelling

  • Matching each unit to the correct replacement label

  • Keeping worked and unworked inventory separate

  • Checking relabelled units before reboxing

  • Preparing outbound stock in line with the correct SKU information

This type of process is central to UK Amazon inventory relabelling projects. It is also where experience matters. A high-volume operation needs enough structure to avoid errors, but it also needs enough flexibility to keep work moving.

Relabelling more than 60,000 individual units

The core warehouse task was to relabel over 60,000 individual units.

Each unit had to be handled, labelled and returned into the correct flow for checking and packing. The work took place in Holdify’s warehouse, using a process built around accuracy and repeatability.

High-volume relabelling is labour-intensive. It needs suitable warehouse space, trained staff, supervision and a clear standard for how labels should be applied. Consistency is especially important when completed inventory is going back into Amazon, where barcode readability and correct identification are essential.

Holdify treated the emergency relabelling stage as part of a wider Amazon FBA rework service, rather than an isolated task. The team had already received and booked in the stock, arranged the label supply, and controlled SKUs before units moved through relabelling.

That sequence reduced avoidable handling and helped maintain accuracy across the project.

Reboxing, checking and preparing stock for FBA

Once products were relabelled, the work moved into checking, reboxing and FBA preparation.

For Amazon sellers, the return-to-FBA stage is just as important as the relabelling itself. Corrected products need to be prepared so they can be received by Amazon fulfilment centres with as few issues as possible.

Holdify checked inventory during the process, reboxed units where needed, and prepared completed stock for return to Amazon. This included ensuring units were packed into suitable cartons and organised for onward movement into Amazon’s network.

This is where experience in UK Amazon FBA prep becomes valuable. The warehouse needs to understand how FBA preparation, carton handling and pallet presentation affect the next stage.

The reboxing and preparation stage helped turn corrected units back into saleable FBA inventory. Once the work was complete, the inventory was sent into multiple Amazon fulfilment centres.

The result was corrected inventory returned to sale

The project achieved its main aim. A large volume of existing inventory was corrected, prepared and returned to Amazon.

The measurable outcomes were clear:

  • Over 60,000 units relabelled

  • More than 135 pallets received from Amazon removal orders

  • 4 SKUs managed through the rework process

  • Replacement labels sourced and produced

  • Inventory checked, reboxed and prepared for FBA

  • Completed stock sent into multiple Amazon fulfilment centres

For the client, this meant a substantial quantity of stock could move back towards sale rather than remaining stranded after removal from Amazon.

For Holdify, the project demonstrated its ability to handle high-volume Amazon inventory rework with practical warehouse control. The work required space, labour, coordination and attention to detail across every stage.

It also showed why sellers often need more than basic storage when an FBA issue occurs. Removal orders, relabelling, compliance checks and FBA preparation need to be managed as one connected process.

What other Amazon sellers can take from this project

Large Amazon removal orders can happen for many reasons. Labelling issues, compliance requirements, packaging changes, catalogue corrections or FNSKU changes can all leave sellers needing to remove, correct and resend stock.

The key lesson from this project is that rework should be planned before the first pallet arrives.

A seller arranging Amazon inventory rework should be clear on:

  • How many units and pallets are expected

  • Which fulfilment centres stock is coming from

  • How many SKUs are involved

  • What labels need replacing

  • Who is producing the replacement labels

  • What checking process will be used

  • How completed stock will be packed and sent back to Amazon

Trying to solve these questions after stock has arrived can slow the project down.

For urgent cases, including Emergency Amazon FBA relabelling, the same principles still apply. Speed matters, but accuracy cannot be skipped. A rushed rework project that creates fresh errors can leave inventory stranded for longer.

How Holdify Fulfilment supports Amazon FBA rework

Holdify Fulfilment supports UK businesses and Amazon sellers that need practical help with removal orders, relabelling, rework and FBA preparation.

This can include:

  • Amazon removal order warehouse handling

  • Goods-in and stock booking from Amazon fulfilment centres

  • FBA relabelling service for individual units

  • Label sourcing and label production support

  • SKU separation and inventory control

  • Amazon compliance relabelling

  • Reboxing and carton preparation

  • UK Amazon FBA prep for returning stock to Amazon

  • Dispatch into multiple Amazon fulfilment centres

The right support depends on the condition of the stock, the number of SKUs, the reason for removal and Amazon’s requirements for the corrected inventory.

Holdify’s role is to make that process manageable. For sellers with hundreds of pallets or tens of thousands of units, the value is in having a warehouse partner that can receive the stock, control the work and prepare inventory properly for its next movement.

FAQ

What is an Amazon FBA removal order?

An Amazon FBA removal order is a request to have inventory removed from Amazon’s fulfilment network. Sellers may use removal orders when stock needs inspection, relabelling, repackaging, disposal or return to their own warehouse or a third-party fulfilment provider.

Can removed Amazon stock be relabelled and sent back to FBA?

Yes, in many cases removed stock can be corrected and returned to Amazon if it meets the required standards. The exact process depends on the reason for removal, the product condition, the correct labels and Amazon’s inbound requirements.

How does high-volume Amazon relabelling work?

High-volume relabelling usually starts with receiving and booking in the stock, separating it by SKU, preparing or sourcing the correct labels, relabelling each unit, checking the work, and packing the completed inventory for return. Clear stock control is essential when handling thousands of units.

What types of Amazon FBA rework can a 3PL handle?

A 3PL can often help with relabelling, reboxing, bundling, barcode correction, inventory checks, packaging changes and preparation for new FBA inbound shipments. The exact work depends on the product and what needs correcting.

Why use a UK 3PL for Amazon inventory rework?

A UK 3PL gives sellers warehouse space, labour and stock-handling processes without needing to bring the work in-house. For large removal orders, this can be especially useful because pallets can be received, checked, corrected and prepared for Amazon in one controlled location.
